RE: Pullrite SuperGlide Hitch Tall Pin Posts

Here is what information I just received from Pullrite after asking if there is a 3" lift kit available. Yes that is correct the suggested retail price is $149.00 and can be ordered through anyone of our dealers. Please see attached for more info. This will work for the 14, 16, & 18K SuperGlide hitches. Thanks, Irvin Smith Customer Relations - PullRite Corporate OfficeCheck the Parts List quantities below before you begin. Call (800) 443-2307 to report any shortage. 1. Remove the SuperGlide hitch from the base rails, making mental note of the holes being used 2. before you remove the hitch completely, as you will be reinstalling the risers in the same location. Install the 3” lift base rails on the SuperGlide rails where your hitch was previously, and loosely tighten the 3. risers down with the bolts provided. Reinstall the hitch onto the 3” lift base rails. 4. Tighten the bolts {B} to 75 foot pounds. 5. 3” Lift Kit #4408 (for use with UMK Base Rails or SuperRails)

RE: Pullrite SuperGlide Hitch Tall Pin Posts

I just found out that Pullrite is making a 3" lift kit (part #4408) now for SuperGlide Sliders. I have been told that they can't manufacture them fast enough to keep up with the demand. I am checking into it now as we speak!

RE: Superglide hitch damage

If the damage is on the receiver plate it could have been caused by loose screws on the universal capture plate that left their mark on the plate. Also the capture plate has a locking devise that could have been damaged by someone moving the trailer without removing the capture plate. Once the capture plate is damaged it could damage the hitch the next time it is used to hook up.

Pullrite SuperGlide Hitch Tall Pin Posts

Has anyone used the optional taller extension pin posts with their slider? Does it give you more clearance between the bed rails and the RV by raising up the hitch?....or are they only used for a bed linear clearance?

RE: Thinking of buying a Jayco or Heartland Rig! Help

We own a 2008 291RLTS Eagle. We took delivery in Dec.2007 and have been using it off and on ever since. I never had any issues since our PDI except a bad starter relay in the AC unit which was covered and taken care of by Coleman. Jayco builds great quality into their coach. I like to compare it to our Lexus because we also have never returned to the dealer for any adjustments or repairs after taking delivery. It's hard to find great quality products like this.

RE: Big Horn By Heartland

Heartland builds a great fifthwheel. While camping this week I saw someone with one of the first Bighorns made. It was easy to spot because the graphics are so different than what they are using today. The owner said he bought it new and they are full timers. Only minor problems as all trailers will have, but claimed to still be in love and are looking to buy another one in a few years. I also have good friends that own and love theirs. I don't own a Bighorn, but was looking at the time we bought..... It was high on our short list!

RE: Pullrite Super Rail Installation

I would take the $200 deal! Around here the dealers are looking for $350-$375. If the $200 dealer has installed a few of these before it will lessen the chance of him making a mistake. There are other threads telling of horror stories from people trying to install this without any experience.

RE: RV sales down..... Local story news

These RV's use to be financed by taking home equity loans that have dried up as of lately. In Santa Rosa, California we had Dan Gamels and Santa Rosa RV which have both closed in the last months. High gas and diesel prices are the other part of the problem.

RE: airbags or leafs

Do the air bags would be my choice. You control the quality of the ride when you travel empty. I have Firestone air springs on my Dodge Ram and can't believe how well they handle the load....the truck now rides level.

RE: Chinese Trailer Tires

Goodyear Marathons ( G Rating / 65 mph max) use to be made in Canada. They are now made in CHINA. We were coming back from Tenn. This past summer and blew the whole tread off in one piece. Left only the sidewalls. 3 1/2 years old and only 9,000 miles on the tires. Order a replacement Goodyear Marathons, Looked at the code and found out it was made in CHINA. These Goodyear Marathons came on my 2008 Jayco Eagle. A good friend of mine pointed these China tires out to me when we were camping together and explained he was replacing his China Bombs with US made tires because of all the problems reported. I bought a new pressure washer that had tires made in China and as I was inflating them to the recommended psi one blew apart. Scared the hell out of me. I took the whole thing back for a refund.

RE: Taking Delivery Today!

Congratulations on the new Jayco. They build a quality coach and your PDI should go well. My experience with Jayco is that they inspect the coaches closely before sending them out to the dealers and do not rely on them to find mistakes in workmanship on the PDI. I didn't have any problems with ours except the twin recliners had damage because they became unsecured during transporting out to the west coast. The dealer called Jayco and they were repaired without any hassle. Enjoy yours!

RE: Do The Test Pull ! !

Following the theory that "if it can go wrong, it will go wrong", I watch and hear my PullRite hitch handle bang shut, and verify visually that the jaw has fully wrapped around the pin, then set the trailer brakes and give 'er a tug with the landing gear just off the ground. Everytime. And good luck and God bless to our RVing friends and fellow Americans in the Galveston Texas Gulf Coastal Areas! Ike is a bad one! Ditto on the pull test! I always lift my landing gear 1" and lock the trailer brakes and pull the TV forward. I don't only rely on the PullRite handle to bang shut. A friend of mine high hooked his PullRite and saw the handle move in, but didn't check the jaws or do a pull test. He drove around the RV park without a problem, but when he pulled out onto the highway that's when he dropped the trailer on the bed rails. $6,000 dollars later everything was fine. Ask him if he does a pull test now?

RE: Replace locks on Alpenlite fifth wheel

I replaced all my CH751 keys with a new combination lock that you can set your own code numbers in. They replace the standard locks without any modifications. They also prevent someone from placing a screwdriver in the lock and turning it open, but can not prevent someone from using a crowbar in the door itself! Remember a good lock only keeps a honest man out. These can be purchased from this web site on the internet. http://www.padlocks4less.com/

RE: Roku Netflix movie player

We have been using this in our home for sometime now and it works great when there is nothing else to watch. Netflix has 10,000 older movies and TV shows to watch. I haven't tried this in my RV yet, but I can see running into problems if you are streaming video in a RV park with minimal broadband speeds. Thousand Trails rules claim if you are caught streaming video and taking broadband away from other campers they have the right to pull the plug. My experience in RV parks is that the WI FI is somewhat slow and just a little better than dial up at best.

RE: interested on a 5th wheel... not sure.. help

We were newbies last year and found RV shopping to be overwhelming . We looked at many different Makes and Models before deciding on the right one. We found that a floor plan with good quality construction was very important to us. After looking for awhile you will soon recognize quality when you see it. Montana makes a great 5ver, but so do many other manufactures. Take your time before deciding on one brand and give yourself a chance to look at the many choices available. We found each Manufactured Brand has different quality levels in different price ranges. Sometimes you have to move up to the next level before finding exactly what your looking for. Good luck with your search and Welcome.

RE: COmpartment door locks

I found the Combi-Cam locks. The Combi-Cam converts all standard cam locks for door and drawers into keyless security. Go to http://www.combi-cam.com The Combi-Cam retrofits your current locks. I replaced all my locks with these keyless combination locks. They work great and will keep someone with the same key from opening your door.....but they won't stop someone from breaking the door open with a screwdriver or pry bar. Remember and good lock only keeps a honest man honest! If the rest want in they will figure a way!!!
